Department of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care, Emergency and Pain Medicine
With over 150 doctors, anesthesiology is one of the clinic's largest specialist areas. In addition to the elimination of pain during interventions and operations under anesthesia or regional anesthesia, emergency medicine, intensive care medicine and pain management are the three most important pillars of our treatment spectrum.
Technology meets management
Due to the state-of-the-art Equipment in the emergency ambulance, operating theatre and intensive care unit, it is possible to use the best therapeutic possibilities for the benefit of the patients. An innovative management in the accident outpatient department ensures a seamless and well-organised further treatment of seriously injured patients after the takeover.
Modern and multifacted
In addition to its own operative intensive care unit with the possibility of lung replacement as well as the care of the intensive care ambulance stationed in Wuerzburg, our clinic also operates an interdisciplinary pain center under its own responsibility. Furthermore, we are one of the two certified centers for Malignant Hyperthermia in Germany.
With our transfusion-saving Patient Blood Management, we meet the high quality requirements of a modern clinic. We are strongly involved in the region's emergency medical services.
Further education and research
The Clinic and Polyclinic for Anesthesiology, Intensive Care Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Pain Therapy offers the possibility of further training as a specialist as well as additional training in special intensive care medicine, special pain therapy and emergency medicine. Numerous career models guarantee the compatibility of medical work and research work. We attach great importance to research and offer a wide range of opportunities. In connection with the cooperation in one of the numerous research and working groups, we also regularly award doctoral and post-doctoral theses.
From the Clinic and Polyclinic, the entire team of the Department of Anesthesiology greets you
