Clinic and Polyclinic for Anesthesiology

In the case of anesthesia, pain treatment, intensive care or emergency medicine, personal care is a central concern for us despite our state-of-the-art equipment and equipment. The Department of Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care, Emergency and Pain Medicine, University Hospital Wuerzburg proves its professional competence with more than 31000 patients per year.

With over 120 doctors, anesthesiology is one of the clinic's largest specialist areas. In addition to the elimination of pain during interventions and operations under anesthesia or regional anesthesia, the treatment spectrum also includes emergency medicine, intensive medicine and pain treatment.

Accident management

Due to the state-of-the-art equipment it is possible to use the best therapeutic possibilities for the benefit of the patients. An innovative management in the accident outpatient department ensures a seamless and well-organised further treatment of seriously injured patients after the takeover.

Pain Center and Center for Malignant Hyperthermia

In addition to its own operative intensive care unit with the possibility of lung replacement as well as the care of the intensive care ambulance stationed in Wuerzburg, the Clinic for Anesthesiology operates an interdisciplinary pain centre under its own responsibility, as one of the six certified contact points in Germany for Malignant Hyperthermia it conducts special consultation hours and is strongly involved in the rescue service of the region.
