Emergeny medicine

Training in anesthesiology also includes emergency medical care. Every prospective physician should have basic knowledge and basic skills in the field of emergency medicine. We impart these in the form of lectures and internships. Guest students are also invited to attend these courses as part of the Erasmus programme. The courses are held in German language.

Basics of emergency medicine

The sector emergency medicine is a part of the field of anesthesiology. The curriculum of emergency medicine includes the immediate recognition and appropriate treatment of imminent or extremely urgent and acute medical emergencies, the resuscitation and stabilization of vital functions as well as achieving and maintaining the transport of patients.

Contents of the catalogue of learning objectives

The curriculum of the national catalogue of learning objectives lists in detail the contents that all doctors are expected to master in order to diagnose and examine an emergency patient. This includes above all the correct classification of a life-threatening condition and the most important measures for maintaining vital functions.

Please extract further details concerning the mediated contents and skills of our subject during the courses from the national educational objectives catalogue of the German Society of Anesthesiology (DGAI).
