Lab Manager

The Laboratory of Translational Pediatrics headed by Prof. Dr. Dorothee Viemann offers the position of a

Lab Manager in Translational Pediatrics (m/f/d)

For this position, we are seeking a highly motivated advanced postdoc (m/f/d) with a strong interest in early-life immunology. Candidates should have very good oral and written language skills in German and English and demonstrate excellent communication, team-work and fundamental leadership skills. For this position, the successful candidate should have prior experience in at least two of the following scientific fields:

  • Advanced cell culture models
  • High-throughput sequencing methods
  • Virology / RNA biology
  • Bioinformatics analyses
  • Animal models of inflammation and/or infection (incl. FELASA certificate or equivalent)

Voluntary scientific year and Internship

A voluntary scientific year (Freiwilliges Wissenschaftliches Jahr, FWJ) offers school graduates the opportunity to spend one year working in the lab. The program is integrated into the Voluntary Services of the BMFSFJ and starts annually in September.

Master Thesis

The Laboratory of Translational Pediatrics would be happy to support young students and offer the possibility for bachelor and master students to join our lab. Along with state-of-the-art techniques we teach students in basic molecular biology methods and train them in scientific publication research and how to write protocols and thesis.

If you are interested in doing your masters in our laboratory we would be happy to support you. Graduation (MD, PhD)

We are happy to offer young researcher and medical students the opportunity to graduate in the field of translational pediatrics.Candidates should have successfully completed a university degree in either computational biology or life sciences or medicine. They should have very good oral and written language skills in German and English. Prior experience in immunology, high-throughput sequencing methods and bioinformatics are welcome. We look for talented and highly motivated young people with enthusiasm for science and openness to new technologies.
