Programs and services

  • Palliative care has the intention to improve quality of life in patients with advanced critical illness and ­limited life expectancy by abatement of pain and other symptoms as well as providing psycho-social, ­spiritual and medical support.
  • Palliative care ward with 10 single bedrooms, living room and accommodation for family ­members
  • Palliative care consulting team for patients in the different departments of the university clinic
  • Outpatient palliative care clinic for patients who are not treated in the hospital but are in need of palliative care counseling or symptom treatment
  • Patient’s care by a multiprofessional team consisting of physicians and nurses with palliative care education, psycho-oncologists, physiotherapists, social worker, hospice volunteer, pastors, music, art and breathing therapists
  • Consultation offers for outpatients and their ­families and for people in mourning
