Update of the Health Training Program of the German Federal Pension Insurance - AktGT

Project leader: PD Dr. Karin Meng
Project team: Roland Küffner; Natascha Scheller M. Sc. Psych.; Dr. Jennifer Seeger
Funding: Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund
Duration: 07/2026 – 06/2029

Background

The project comprises the needs assessment, updating, and expansion of the Health Training Program (GT) of the German Federal Pension Insurance (DRV Bund). The DRV Bund uses the GT to provide illness-specific and generic training curricula designed to promote health literacy and self-management competencies among rehabilitation patients. To date, this program has been developed and updated in collaboration with representatives from the rehabilitation clinic group and universities. Some of the curricula have also been evaluated for their effectiveness. Due to transformations in medical rehabilitation, aspects of digitalization, sustainability, interprofessional collaboration, and usability must be considered.

The project’s objective is to digitally provide training materials and framework recommendations that have been redesigned in terms of content, methods, and graphics. These are intended to meet the needs of the medical rehabilitation facilities contracted by the DRV Bund in terms of quality assurance, user-friendliness, digitalization, sustainability, and interprofessionality.

Methods

A multi-method development process will be implemented, supported by an interprofessional project advisory board.
