Yijun Chen, from China, is a postdoctoral researcher in the Translational Social Neuroscience Group at the Center for Mental Health. She obtained her PhD in Biophysics from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2025, where she investigated the neural basis of emotional synchronization in close relationships, employing EEG hyperscanning and dual-brain neuromodulation (hyper-tACS).

At Würzburg, her current work expands to projects with 7T fMRI and pain, focusing on how social buffering shapes pain perception. Her research aims to advance understanding of the neural and social mechanisms underlying pain and their implications for mental health.
